Should I Become a Ghost Producer?

A career as a ghost producer has many benefits when compared to other career paths in the entertainment industry. As is mentioned in this blog post about the difficulties of success as an artist and the complications of writing credits, we explore some key reasons for that. The question of whether you should become a ghost producer really depends on your circumstances.

There are some questions you need to ask yourself:

  • Will I be successful as an artist and gain the fame required to earn a living as an entertainer?
  • Do I have the tools and understanding needed to gain the level of fans needed to be successful?
  • Is my network and understanding of record labels, managers, booking agents, social media presence, marketing and branding sufficient?
  • Am I at a point in my life where I feel I can pursue a career as an artist?
  • Is the quality of my music good enough to be sold?
  • Am I comfortable with the idea of selling my music to others?
  • Do I fully understand what a ghost producer is?

These are some important questions, many of which most artists need to ask themselves during a career.

Why we think what we do is important and positive

Producr was founded out of passion for music. We believe Music Director and Co-Founder Alex is an extremely talented music producer. After years of releasing music, performing nationally and internationally and being streamed millions of times, Alex felt he had more room to grow as a producer, but wanted to move away from the entertainer lifestyle. Through more research we discovered that there are so many amazingly talented musicians that have had to forgo their dream of making a living as musicians due to monetary reasons.

Art is such an important part of culture and to waste talent like that is in our opinion, not acceptable. There are so many requirements to be become a successful entertainer but being a successful music writer or producer requires a core skillset of creativity and masterful music creation quality. We believe that if you have those skills and the talent, you should be able to make a living doing what you were meant to do.

Live your life doing what you love

We aren’t saying you’re going to get rich and that success is guaranteed. But we are offering the opportunity for those individuals to be successful doing what they love. This is while enabling others who may perhaps have many of the other elements required for commercial success but lack music production skills to have a chance at success. There are people who have built networks, have a deep understanding of marketing and brand development and are talented entertainers, but lack musical skill. These people are entertainers at heart and by combining their talents with the talents of our ghost producers, something amazing happens.

If you feel that this is something you want to be involved in, then we absolutely think you should become a ghost producer. If you think that being a ghost producer is a negative thing and don’t see the value it creates, then we wish you all the best!
